ARES - Adaptive Range Exercise Simulation

The ARES Platform provides a fully customisable virtual weapons training environment that allows for highly realistic and effective weapons training at a fraction of the cost of traditional training and competitor systems. ARES gives trainees all the benefits of operating physical hardware combined with the safety, portability, customisation and immersion of virtual reality. The ARES Platform can guide trainees through a wide range of exercises from basic firearm safety qualifications to in-field live-fire exercises.

ARES

The ARES Platform collects multiple sources of training data including video feed and biometric sensors to weapon handling data not traditionally captured by other platforms such as trigger and stock pressure. ARES can operate both single and multi-user scenarios while automatically assessing all trainees in real time through its inbuilt AIVA integration. Where human assessment is preferred, ARES makes all training data available for on and off site assessment and after action review.

ARES benefits include.

  • Low cost

  • Highly realistic and immersive

  • Automated assessment allowing training and assessment in the absence of specialist trainers

  • Supports single and multi user exercises

  • Able to incorporate any firearm

  • Safe virtual environments simulate weapons discharge without the use of ammunition

  • Realistic physical weapons help develop muscle memory associated with effective weapons handling.

  • Able to track a wide variety of training and biometric data and supports 3rd party data sources

  • Use of COTS hardware allows for rapid and robust deployment

  • Compact system can be deployed to operational spaces as small as 3x3m

Using our experience to give back to our community.

Pre-Pandemic and specifically in September 2019 as a standout example we take every opportunity that we can to educate and give back to the community that has supported us and other veterans of Australia’s armed forces. Below is a picture at the end of what was (and we hope is still to be) the first of a two part bespoke tour of the shrine of remembrance for the AFL umpires. Our Business Manager and keen military historian researched stories that amazed the umpires as the tour was focused on AFL umpires who served their country (in between games) and revealed a typical Australian character trait of telling a fib about your age to allow one of them to serve in both WW1 and WW2. We thank the AFL umpires for the support they give veterans and look forward to the next phase of the tour - inside the shrine.
